About
After we entered the building through the lobby, we moved into the living room and went out to the balcony. In January, we arrive at the kitchen, the heart of the house and the place where smells, flavors, and recipes come together to create who we are.
Architect Dr. Sigal Davidi will present the kitchen designed by architect Lotte Cohn for the Israeli woman, and talk about kitchen planning and its connection to gender and family life by examining the Scientific Kitchen and New Household designed for the New Woman.
Dr. Joachim Nicholas Trezib, a researcher at the Moses Mendelssohn Centre of European-Jewish Studies at the University of Potsdam, will talk about the Jewish architect Heinrich Heinz Rau and the ideal kitchen he designed in Israel (English).
Nomi Abeliovich, architect, culinary expert, and researcher, will talk about the comprehensive research behind the bestseller Jerusalem: A Cookbook by Yotam Ottolenghi and Sami Tamimi, and the preservation of traditional kitchens and culinary memories.
