About
A building undergoing a conservation process is usually accessible only to professionals involved in the construction work. The tour of the Liebling House provides a rare opportunity to experience real-time conservation as the building is being renovated and converted from a residential building into a public cultural center. During the tour we will examine how to reconcile the historical value of the building with its contemporary role; how can we expose its history and present the time machine hidden behind its walls while respecting its residents‘ stories; which elements are worthy of preservation; and further issues related to the restoration of a registered building and their effect on this symbol of modern architecture in Tel Aviv. The tour will be led by a representative of Arco, contractors of the renovation, and Sharon Golan-Yaron, the conservation architect heading the renovation and content manager of the White City Center.
