About
The urban-ecological utopia of city planner and biologist Patrick Geddes, who saw the city as a habitat that allows various organisms to coexist, is one of the cornerstones of the vision of the founders of Tel Aviv. The tour, led by Shira Benyemini, director of the White City Center, and Yaara Daniel Schwartz, a social activist and member of the CityTree community, will explore several concepts: has the vision of the founders of Tel Aviv been realized in the White City? To what extent did it contribute to its urbanism, and can we form a future vision of the city based on contemporary values? The tour begins at the Liebling House with a review of Geddes' vision and the realization of modern and social architectural principles in Tel Aviv. We will then continue to the ecologic garden of CityTree and the White City Center, featuring future plans of the Liebling House garden (planned by the White City Center and the Onya Collective).
