About
The Open for Renovation tours continue as usual.
Most of us consider conservation as a project designed to restore a building’s appearance, but a fundamental process of conservation also dares to adopt the traces of time, exposing the flaws and damages - these sensitive remnants of modernist architecture and the founders of Tel Aviv. During our tour of the Liebling House, we will uncover the layers of time and discuss issues that emerge during a real-time conservation project: How do we reconcile the historical value of the building with the role of the White City? How can we reveal the chronicles of the house and display the time machine hidden between its walls in a way that honors the story of its residents? Which of the existing elements of the Liebling House are worth preserving and why? What have we discovered between the cracks and what remains hidden? Join us on a tour of the soon-to-be White City Center, where we present the dilemmas involved in practical conservation and their influence on the Liebling House, a symbol of modernist architecture in Tel Aviv.
The tour is led by Sharon Golan-Yaron, the conservation architect responsible for the renovation and content director of the White City Center.
