About
The Israel Conservatory of Music in Tel Aviv and the German jazz orchestra BuJazzO presents Sound Utopias - a live audiovisual performance celebrating the 100th anniversary of the influential Bauhaus movement. Musical director Niels Klein features a show that fuses original compositions with footage of pioneers of animation and experimental filmmakers, including Lotte Reiniger, Walter Ruttmann, and László Moholy-Nagy. Following the premiere at the Kurt Weill Fest Dessau (Germany) in March 2018, Sound Utopias arrives in Tel Aviv and Berlin.
The project is a collaboration of the Israel Conservatory of Music, BuJazzO, the Eastman School of Music, and the Eastman Museum for Film and Photography in Rochester (USA), funded by the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community (BMI).
